Medical Front Desk Supervisor – Ophthalmology

Job Overview

Snead Eye Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Front Desk Supervisor to oversee patient access and front office operations across multiple ophthalmology clinic locations in Southwest Florida.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient clinic flow, strong patient experience, and consistent operational standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with medical front office experience who is comfortable managing schedules, developing staff, and maintaining accountability across teams.

Work hours are based on clinic schedules and patient volume and may vary by location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Patient Access / Front Desk staff across multiple clinic locations
  • Ensure consistent patient check-in, registration, intake, and check-out processes
  • Support patient scheduling workflows and daily clinic readiness
  • Manage team schedules, PTO requests, and staffing coverage
  • Partner with clinical and billing teams to support accurate insurance verification
  • Oversee daily schedule preparation and chart readiness
  • Lead team huddles, onboarding, and front office training
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching when needed
  • Identify and resolve patient flow or workflow issues
  • Travel between clinic locations as operational needs require

Qualifications

  • Prior medical front office leadership experience required
  • Ophthalmology or specialty practice experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Experience with practice management systems (ModMed preferred)
  • Ability to manage schedules and staff in a high-volume clinical environment
