Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Medical Gas Technician/Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining medical gas systems, plumbing, and related mechanical components in healthcare facilities or commercial environments. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical systems that support patient care and building operations. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medical gas systems in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing and mechanical installations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, welding equipment, and other construction tools to complete tasks efficiently.
- Perform construction plumbing tasks including pipe fitting, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly of piping systems.
- Conduct site assessments and prepare work areas for installation or maintenance activities while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate work schedules on construction sites or remodeling projects.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required during installation or repair processes.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and parts used for compliance and future reference.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards by following schematics, technical manuals, and industry best practices.
- Support ongoing maintenance activities for HVAC systems related to medical gas setups or plumbing infrastructure.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction plumbing, including pipe fitting, soldering, welding, and assembly.
- Strong knowledge of medical gas systems installation standards and safety requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, HVAC plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, welding equipment, and other construction tools.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of plumbing systems within commercial or healthcare settings.
- Experience working on construction sites or remodeling projects with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizing or system layouts.
- Familiarity with schematics related to HVAC systems or mechanical piping infrastructure.
- Valid commercial driver’s license preferred for transportation between job sites.
- Handyman experience or general maintenance skills beneficial for troubleshooting diverse issues on-site.
