In a medical environment, accurate communication isn't just about translating words—it’s about clarity, safety, and comfort for the patient. We are looking for an empathetic, fluent, and highly precise Medical Interpreter to join our dedicated team and serve as a vital communication bridge.

The Role: Giving Voice to Care

As our Medical Interpreter, you are the crucial link between patients and their healthcare providers. You will step into the clinical space to perform real-time, consecutive, or simultaneous interpretation during complex consultations, medical procedures, and emergency situations. Your ability to accurately convey medical diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient symptoms ensures that medical care is safely delivered and culturally respected.

Key Responsibilities

• Real-Time Interpretation: Provide accurate, unbiased, and fluent consecutive/simultaneous interpretation between healthcare professionals and patients (primarily English to Arabic and vice versa).
• Cultural Mediation: Serve as a cultural liaison, helping expatriate medical staff understand local nuances and assisting international patients in navigating the clinical environment.
• Document Translation: Assist in accurately translating vital medical documents, discharge summaries, patient consent forms, and educational brochures when required.
• Ethical Standard Maintenance: Strictly adhere to the International Code of Ethics for Medical Interpreters, ensuring absolute patient confidentiality and objective communication.
• Compassionate Presence: Maintain a calm, empathetic, and professional demeanor in high-stress medical environments, including emergency rooms and surgical consultations.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Language Mastery: Absolute, native-level fluency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken). Proficiency in medical terminology in both languages is mandatory.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional interpretation experience, with at least 1 year specifically within a medical, hospital, or clinical setting.
• Certification: A formal degree in Translation/Linguistics or a recognized Medical Interpreter Certification is highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and the mental stamina to handle intense medical scenarios.
• Location/Status: Must be currently residing in Qatar with a valid QID and a transferable visa status.
