Medical Lab Technician

In this essential role, you will perform laboratory testing that helps physicians diagnose, treat, and monitor patient conditions. Your work will directly impact patient outcomes by ensuring accurate, timely laboratory results that support quality healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank.

• Collect, process, and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing.

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation according to established protocols.

• Verify and report laboratory test results accurately and in a timely manner.

• Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.

• Follow all laboratory safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and resolving testing issues when necessary.

• Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records.

• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results or specimen requirements.

• Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field from an accredited program.

Licensure/Certifications: MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required.

Experience: Previous hospital or clinical laboratory experience preferred, but new graduates from accredited programs are encouraged to apply.
