We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Medical-Legal Transcriptionist specializing in Orthopedics and Independent Medical Examination (IME) reports. This 1099 contractor role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to the accurate and timely transcription of complex medical-legal documents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with proven experience in transcribing orthopedic and IME reports. Responsibilities

• Transcribe detailed medical-legal reports related to orthopedics and IMEs with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Review dictated audio files, ensuring clarity and completeness before transcription.
• Utilize specialized knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately interpret complex reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
• Edit and proofread transcripts for grammatical correctness, consistency, and adherence to client specifications.
• Manage multiple projects efficiently, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with legal professionals, medical providers, and insurance adjusters to clarify report details as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical transcription, specifically with orthopedics or IME reports.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and relevant medical terminology.
• Excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy and speed.
• Prior experience working in a medical office environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with transcription software and digital audio platforms.
• Ability to interpret complex medical dictation accurately and efficiently.
