Medical Office Assistant/Scribe

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. Medical assisting will be trained on the job. We are a busy dermatology office and open to post grad students looking for a gap year! Hours are Monday through Thursday with flexible Friday work schedule

No Friday afternoons

All holidays off

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time. This position is essential for ensuring that medical records are complete and up-to-date, allowing clinicians to focus on patient care. The Medical Scribe will work in various settings, including outpatient clinics and urgent care facilities, and may also assist in inpatient environments.

Duties

• Accurately document patient histories, physical examinations, and other clinical information during patient visits.
• Record vital signs and other relevant data as directed by healthcare providers.
• Support clinical operations by providing medical administrative support as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and protocols relevant to the role.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of human physiology and medical terminology.
• Ability to document accurately in real-time during patient encounters.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems for documentation purposes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.
