Medical Office Insurance Collector

7 PHYSICIAN PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGY MEDICAL OFFICE

Duties:

- Contact patients and insurance companies to collect outstanding balances

- Review and analyze medical bills and claims for accuracy

- Utilize ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding to ensure proper billing and reimbursement

- Understand and apply DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) codes for accurate billing

- Negotiate payment plans with patients and insurance companies

- Update patient records with payment information and follow-up actions

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving billing issues

Qualifications:

- Bilingual

- Previous experience in medical billing or collections preferred

- Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems

- Familiarity with DRG codes and their application in medical billing

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and meet collection targets

- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing medical bills and claims

Needs to be coder certified

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.50 per hour
