Job Summary
NorthStarr Cardiothoracic Surgery is a group of cardiothoracic surgeons in Anchorage, Alaska providing comprehensive surgical consultative, operative and post-operative care to patients. In addition, NCS is responsible for the development and success of the Cardiothoracic program at Providence Alaska Medical Center. This effort is being led by a highly experienced physician leadership team based in Anchorage. The position available is within the outpatient clinic located on the PAMC campus.
The Certified Nursing Assistant would be responsible to perform a variety of clinical and clerical duties. Critical thinking, strong organizational, and communication skills is a must. In addition, the candidate should possess excellent customer service skills and have an energetic, upbeat personality.
Duties
- Assisting physicians or physician assistants with patient care within the clinic setting.
- Updating clinical notes in EPIC
- Phone triage
- Care coordination
- Performing routine office procedures and providing patient education.
- Manage incoming referrals.
- Scheduling 2nd consults and Patient check out.
- File records in appropriate sections of patient charts, keep patient charts in proper order.
- Transcribe letters and create forms as needed – return to work and appointment letters.
- Minimum CNA diploma/certification and experience within the surgical specialty is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to communicate and work well with both upper management and support staff.
- Must work well under pressure with a willingness to change directions in order to make patient care top priority.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Skills
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication
- Familiarity with medical receptionist duties such as calendar management, appointment scheduling, and patient support services
- Personal assistant or administrative experience that showcases strong time management skills and attention to detail

Pay: $30.00 per hour
