Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients, and facilitating effective communication between patients and medical staff. This role requires proficiency in medical office procedures, coding, and health information management.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details accurately.
- Maintain electronic health records using Meditech software.
- Process patient billing and coding using ICD-9 standards.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health information management regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient service delivery.
- Process Durable Medical Equipment (DME) orders for patients.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a medical office is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices, particularly ICD-9, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- A background in health information management is a plus.
