Job Summary
The Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technician or Scientist (CLT/MLT/MLS) position collects, processes, and performs clinical laboratory testing on specimens from neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Is responsible for quality assurance and instrument maintenance.
This position is temporary and expected to last up to 12 weeks.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is MLS $32.13–45.35; MLT 24.41–$34.46. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
Collects blood specimens and evaluates the acceptability of both blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing.
Accessions and processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
Performs routine and high complexity laboratory tests within all areas of the laboratory.
Reports patient test results according to established laboratory policies.
Performs regular Quality Control and Quality Assurance assessments according to established laboratory practices.
Performs instrument preventative maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
Performs clerical functions associated with each laboratory area.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited 2 year MLT program, or a 4-year Laboratory science program – MLS, MT, or CLS
MLT/MLS/MT ASCP certified or eligible (must obtain within 6 months of hire date)
Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification (or obtained within six months of hire, company paid)
Working knowledge of clinical blood banking, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology is preferred
Schedule
80 hours per 2-week pay period
Temporary; expected to last up to 12 weeks
Monday–Friday most weeks (schedule varies when working the weekend); 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Every third weekend
