Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Provider (MD, DO, NP, or PA) to join our urgent care team, delivering high-quality, efficient healthcare services to diverse patient populations. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history assessments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Diagnose acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing advanced clinical skills in areas such as trauma care, infectious disease management, and acute pain control.
- Perform procedures including I&D's, suturing, in-grown toenail removal, IV insertion and infusion, phlebotomy, wound care, and sterile processing techniques.
- Administer medications and injections following HIPAA guidelines and proper medication administration protocols.
- Manage patient cases efficiently by triaging urgent conditions, coordinating with specialists for complex cases like cardiology or gastroenterology consults, and providing follow-up care instructions.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as sonography or laboratory testing to support clinical evaluations; interpret results accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Document all patient encounters meticulously in EMR/EHR systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, radiologists, behavioral health specialists, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage in telehealth consultations when appropriate to extend care access; participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working in urgent care settings or emergency medicine environments with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Office Ally, Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is highly desirable.
- Background in managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care/dementia), assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your candidacy.
- Critical care experience including ICU work, hospital medicine rotations, or post-acute care settings demonstrates your capacity for high-pressure decision-making.
- Additional skills such as trauma triage, airway management (ventilator use), infection control protocols, and acute pain or opioid management are valued assets.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology principles, CPT coding practices for billing purposes, and documentation standards ensures precise recordkeeping.
