Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Athenahealth
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including intake documentation review
- Handle medical collections
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with professional phone etiquette, directing calls as needed
- Assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks related to care plans, documentation review, and medical scheduling
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate to facilitate smooth billing processes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role with clinic or dental experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Athena is a plus
- Proficiency in medical billing, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), insurance verification, and health information management
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Strong communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
