Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations with professionalism and warmth. Your expertise in medical administrative support, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems will ensure smooth clinic flow and exceptional patient service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a respected medical practice committed to quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and billing procedures
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) including eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing practices
  • Familiarity with Office Ally Medical Services
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and patient care
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA standards
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is advantageous but not mandatory
