Medical Receptionist

Job Overview
We are a primary care clinic and Med spa. We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office procedures, EMR systems, and healthcare documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations and compliance with healthcare regulations. Bilingual abilities and prior clinic or dental office experience are highly valued to enhance patient interactions and support diverse patient populations.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk
  • Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems. eClinicalWorks is a plus
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately
  • Collect payments and process medical collections in accordance with billing protocols
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including updating medical records and documentation review
  • Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing calls as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized medical records, including filing and data entry
  • Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating health histories
  • Support administrative tasks such as billing, coding, and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Coordinate with clinical staff regarding care plans and documentation requirements for efficient clinic operations
  • Handle clerical duties such as filing, typing, and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized environment

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting, Primary care clinic, or hospital environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks platform is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing practices is essential
  • Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid procedures is advantageous
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and health information management software
  • Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette in handling multi-line phone systems
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience will be considered an asset for this role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
