Medical Receptionist and Insurance Verification

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist and Insurance Verification specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your expertise in insurance verification, medical documentation, and office management will ensure smooth clinic operations and accurate patient records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care through organized, proactive support.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits
  • Collect and review patient documentation, including medical history, care plans, and insurance information
  • Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems
  • Manage medical records by filing, updating, and retrieving patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering inquiries via phone etiquette, assisting with intake procedures, and supporting office management tasks

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a healthcare administrative support role within a clinic or dental office setting
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, private, No Fault and Workers Compensation
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff in a bilingual (SPANISH) capacity is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of dental terminology or hospital experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks
  • Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and multi-tasking ability

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
