Medical Receptionist needed for busy front desk in a small Family Practice office in Port Orchard.

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our busy front desk team at a small Family Practice office located in Port Orchard, WA. This vital role involves providing exceptional patient service, managing appointment scheduling, and ensuring smooth administrative operations.   • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify insurance information, and assist with check-in procedures using systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
  • Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multiple lines on multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, and perform insurance verification using platforms like Athenahealth or Dentrix
  • Collect and process payments, perform medical collections when necessary, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy
  • Maintain accurate medical records by updating patient information in EMR systems and ensuring documentation review aligns with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with intake procedures, including gathering medical history
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health information using Microsoft Office or similar software

Skills

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a Medical Receptionist or Front Desk Coordinator in a clinic or dental office environment
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology,
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly following HIPAA guidelines
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10 key), and health information management software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; experience working with diverse patient populations is highly valued
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and appointment coordination
  • Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare and other payers; knowledge of medical terminology is preferable

Pay: $23.00 - $29.52 per hour
