Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist and Front Office Coordinator to join our solo integrative OB/GYN practice. This position requires working four days a week, Monday through Thursday. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in front office duties within a medical setting and possess excellent patient-facing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the practice.
- Perform patient check-ins, including gathering and updating demographic information.
- Scan insurance cards, picture IDs, and other identification, as well as prior medical records, into the patient’s file.
- Process patient payments, including procedure pre-payments and past due balances.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, and communicate any schedule changes promptly.
- Handle confidential information and patient medical records with the utmost care.
- Answer and triage phone calls, forwarding messages based on urgency.
- Assist patients, staff, and physicians as needed, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of appointments.
- Prepare the lobby for daily operations, including opening the building and setting up computers.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and training sessions, and apply the knowledge gained.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Athena Electronic Health Record (EHR) is strongly preferred and required but other EHR may also be considered.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally and positively with patients and staff.
- Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in OBGYN/Women’s Health and knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes preferred but not required.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
- Independent, motivated, and a team player with strong follow-up skills.
