Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant

Job Description:

MEDIAL RECEPTIONIST/ASSISTANT

We are looking for an energetic person, with a good attitude, who loves their job and is willing to jump in and get to know patients and be a part of a private internal medicine practice. Looking for support staff member who has worked in office/clinical setting or someone who can be quickly trained.

Duties:

  • Perform administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare professionals in a outpatient clinical setting.
  • Assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Provide basic life support and emergency care as needed.
  • Perform basic medical procedures such as swabs, point of care tests, EKGs and if needed administering injections, and collecting and handling specimens.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding processes.
  • Provide excellent patient service and ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients.

Other Duties:

  • Making appointment, patient communication, follow up on patients with phone/email.
  • Appointment confirmation/insurance verification/eligibility, pre-authorizations, patient recalls.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and basic healthcare practices.
  • Proficiency in performing medical administrative support tasks.
  • Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret results.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
  • Previous experience working in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
