Medical Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports management and leadership
  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
  • Making patient appointments and checking in patients
  • Scheduling procedures and testing
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
  • EMR (Electronic Medical Record) data entry
  • Confirm insurance benefits as noted on the patient's chart
  • Communicating with patients about their weight loss journey through emails, phone calls, Zoom calls, and face-to-face conversations
  • Managing patient accounts with contact information, insurance, and financial information in a confidential manner
  • Scheduling patient visits and answering questions, including billing and weight loss journey from start to finish
  • Coordinating all surgical procedures for patients and communicating with medical facilities such as hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
  • Ensuring services comply with state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong verbal communication skills to communicate with patients and the health care team
  • People skills to connect emotionally with patients
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Teamwork to coordinate with Doctors and other healthcare personnel
  • Good attitude, professionalism, promote team structure.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrating knowledge of scheduling
  • Strong organization with attention to detail
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
  • Experience in either Patient Experience or Customer Service
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Insurance verification experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills
