Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Medical Office Phone Operator/Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient service.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls professionally and courteously.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Route calls and messages accurately to providers and staff.
- Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Assist patients with general questions regarding office policies, appointments, and services.
- Document telephone encounters and messages in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow up on voicemails and patient inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Provide coverage as necessary for check in and check out.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical office experience is preferred but not required. We will train a motivated and dependable individual with a positive attitude.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with computers, phones, and office software.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
