Medical Receptionist/Phone Operator

Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Medical Office Phone Operator/Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls professionally and courteously.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Route calls and messages accurately to providers and staff.
  • Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Assist patients with general questions regarding office policies, appointments, and services.
  • Document telephone encounters and messages in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow up on voicemails and patient inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
  • Provide coverage as necessary for check in and check out.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office experience is preferred but not required. We will train a motivated and dependable individual with a positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient with computers, phones, and office software.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain regular attendance.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00a - 4:30p
