Medical Records Clerk - legal firm - 1+ Yrs. EXP. yrs.

  • Montgomery Law is a growing personal injury law firm dedicated to providing exceptional client service and achieving outstanding results for injured individuals. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Medical Records Clerk to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our attorneys and case managers by ensuring the timely collection, review, and management of medical records and billing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical records and billing statements from hospitals, clinics, physicians, and other medical providers.
  • Verify and organize medical records for attorney review and demand package preparation.
  • Maintain accurate medical provider information within the firm's case management software (Neos).
  • Verify, record, and track expenses and payments made to medical providers.
  • Review and reconcile medical billing balances within the case management system.
  • Verify the accuracy of medical affidavits and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with medical providers, clients, and team members regarding records and billing requests.
  • Ensure all medical records and billing documentation are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a personal injury law firm, medical records department, healthcare administration, or legal support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical records, medical billing, liens, and provider communications is a plus.
  • Experience with case management software, preferably Neos, is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
