About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented, organized, and customer-service‑focused Medical Records Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will support the efficient flow of health information by processing medical record requests, managing incoming electronic faxes, and ensuring accurate and timely distribution of documents within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and fulfill medical records requests in accordance with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Sort, categorize, and distribute incoming electronic faxes to appropriate clinical and administrative teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all protected health information (PHI).
- Ensure timely retrieval, organization, and release of medical records.
- Assist internal staff and external requestors with questions related to record requests and documentation requirements.
- Perform routine data entry, scanning, and record indexing tasks.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve documentation or routing discrepancies.
- Support general health information management functions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, etc.).
- Prior work experience in health information management, medical records, or a healthcare administrative role.
- Understanding of HIPAA privacy standards and medical documentation practices.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
