Medical Scheduler

JOB SUMMARY

Perform scheduling duties to ensure optimization of resource allocation, facilitate timely care, prevent financial loss, and enhance overall patient experience. Work collaboratively with patient coordinator team, billing team, therapists, clients, and families served by Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately schedule clients for therapy sessions including adding new clients through intake, managing the waitlists, and responding to Service Notifications in FOCUS
• Answer phone calls promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude
• Provide coverage and assistance at front desk as needed
• Respond to emails in a timely manner
• Complete tasks in EMR system in a timely manner
• Participate in daily huddle with the Scheduling Team
• Report to the DVPT Scheduling Lead
• Support DVPT Patient Coordinator Team and Billing Team
• Work closely with therapists to ensure they can focus on providing quality care
• Provide excellent customer services to clients and families through effective and timely communication
• Act as a team player
• Participate in daily tasks in the DVPT office, including opening and closing duties, when needed
• Attend and participate in trainings and meetings that are relevant to the daily operations of DVPT

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Appointment Scheduling
• Ability to navigate through an unfamiliar platform with ease
• Microsoft Office experience
• Knowledge of insurance and billing perferred
• Knowledge of pediatric therapy services preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Customer Service – warm, pleasant and positive
• Proficient computer skills for entering data and sending/receiving emails
• Ability to multitask (i.e. answer phones and greet customers simultaneously)
• Ability to take initiative in order to complete duties and responsibilities

Founded by therapists, Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy is located in the Ahwatukee community of Phoenix, Arizona. We offer a variety of services and programs to children with developmental delays, injuries, and those who need a little extra help to realize their full capabilities. We believe in treating the 'whole' child, educating caregivers and team members, and empowering the family. We are committed to helping ALL children achieve their greatest potential.

We are dedicated to providing families with the tools they need to improve their children's quality of life in their home, school, and community. We provide clinic and home-based speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy valley wide. Our therapists are licensed and highly skilled. Their expertise comes from years of experience and participation in workshops, conferences, and seminars, which allows them to remain educated in the most current therapeutic strategies.

As part of treatment, we will evaluate and provide ongoing assessment, and therapy services to children ages birth to young adult. Our therapists work together with families to foster involvement in therapy and provide continuous education. This collaboration maximizes the effectiveness of treatment and strategies provided by our therapists.

OUR CLINIC

Our clinic is located in the beautiful area of Ahwatukee just south of Phoenix and west of 1-10 on Ray Rd. We are close to shopping and numerous restaurants. Our community boasts of friendly neighborhoods, excellent schools, and several hiking and biking trails. Our new, 5,600 sq ft clinic has all necessary equipment required for evaluation and treatment of our pediatric population.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
