About the Role:

Medical Science Liaison (Rare Diseases) – Gulf position responsible for providing scientific and medical leadership across the Gulf region (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, & Bahrain) for Swixx and its partner companies. The person acts as the key medical expert, supporting strategy, clinical development, reimbursement, KOL engagement, and patient-focused initiatives while ensuring full compliance with national and EU regulations. It requires strong medical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, regulators, and internal teams to drive high-quality, ethical medical activities.

Essential Requirements

Education

• BS in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), provided that applicant has sufficient work experience in medical affairs in pharmaceutical or biotech industry or other stakeholders

Experience & Knowledge

• Not less than 2 years’ experience in medical department as MSL or medical advisor in GCC
• Previous experience in rare diseases
• Previous experience in Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Genetic metabolic is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of the healthcare system combined with strong insight into customer needs

Skills and abilities

• Familiarity with industry standards, codes and relevant legislation, including regulatory requirements and standards
• High level of professionalism, ability and willingness to work effectively with multiple products, projects and partners in cross-functional team setting
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in official national language of the country (Arabic) and English
• Readiness for traveling on business purposes

Responsibilities

As Medical Science Liaison you will be providing medical leadership and insights to the cross-functional teams. You will orchestrate high quality medical activities in adherence to internal and external requirements.

• Support in developing and implementing country medical plan in the territory as agreed with Partners and in alignment with global medical strategy.
• Support Swixx and its Partners' medical activities and providing medical insight to marketing and business development.
• Support cross-functional teams to always ensure patient-focused activities, including timely responses to specific internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide medical affairs support to all stakeholders.
• Effective cooperation and communication with Swixx corporate functions and its Partners.
• Keep Swixx and its Partners' high reputation.
• Provide medical strategic recommendations for pipeline and life cycle management programs.
• Develops relationships with relevant medical groups (e.g. hospitals, professional associations, patient advocacy groups) in support of Swixx and its Partners' objectives.
• Planning, designing and managing medical advisory boards and gather insight from regional/national advisory boards; Supporting international advisory boards.
• Review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials and activities.
• Acting as country medical information function, ensure timely response to medical information inquiries, processing and tracking of requests, quality check of related documentation
• Provide appropriate and timely medical support to commercial team, in line with local standards and regulations.
• Defining the country’s medical resource needs and providing input for medical budget planning, resource allocation and budget management.
• Identifying training needs with other functional leaders and ensuring implementation of training programs.
