California Orthopaedic Institute is a dedicated surgical group comprised of 14 physicians and approximately 100 staff members. We specialize in providing comprehensive orthopaedic medical care, including surgical services, physical and occupational therapy, as well as radiology and diagnostic MRI.

Summary

We are seeking a Medical Scribe to join our team at California Orthopaedic Institute and San Diego Orthopaedic Associates. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring that medical records are maintained with precision. Your contributions will be vital in enhancing the efficiency of our clinical operations.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real-time during examinations and procedures.
• Ensure accurate and thorough medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Transcribe physician notes and update electronic medical records promptly.
• Assist with the organization of medical records and ensure they are easily accessible.
• Assist with preparation of medical legal documentation and reports for worker's compensation cases.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline communication and improve patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proven experience in medical documentation or as a scribe is preferred.
• Excellent transcription skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
