Responsibilities
- Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, capturing symptoms, diagnoses, treatment plans, and physician instructions with accuracy and efficiency
- Assist healthcare providers by managing real-time documentation within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring all records are complete and compliant with privacy regulations
- Support physicians by preparing medical records, updating patient histories, and organizing documentation for future reference
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and emergency procedures to accurately interpret provider instructions and patient information
- Demonstrate knowledge on ICD and CPT standards for primary care & EMR previous knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical records and ensure secure handling of all documentation in accordance with healthcare standards
- Utilize typing skills to efficiently input data while maintaining high accuracy levels during fast-paced clinical encounters
- Collaborate with medical staff to improve documentation processes and ensure seamless communication across departments
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or as a Medical Scribe is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and proficiency in transcription tasks are essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and emergency room procedures enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Strong typing skills with the ability to transcribe quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Experience working with medical records management and understanding of healthcare privacy regulations is advantageous.
- Previous knowledge of Medical ICD and CPT coding is preferred. (we provide training if necessary)
- Speaks Urdu and Punjabi is a must.
