MEDICAL SCRIBE

Kapadia Plastic Surgery is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Scribe to support Dr. Sameer Kapadia and the clinical team with accurate, timely, and organized medical documentation. This role is primarily responsible for documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record system, supporting clinical workflow, preparing charts, and assisting with visit documentation for consultations, pre-operative visits, post-operative visits, procedures, and follow-up appointments. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, surgical specialties, or medical office documentation is preferred.

Prism Health Lab is a community-based medical practice that has served Chicagoland residents since 1987. In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we pivoted our practice to support local communities and have made significant strides by focusing our efforts on COVID-19 specific services. Medical Scribe at Kapadia Plastic Surgery

  • Location: Chicago/Elk Grove Village, IL
  • Provider: Dr. Sameer Kapadia
  • Employment Type: Part-Time, based on clinic needs
  • Schedule: Monday and Friday, clinic hours may vary
  • Compensation: $17.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience and fit


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record system.
  • Assist Dr. Sameer Kapadia and the clinical team with chart preparation, visit documentation, and follow-up notes.
  • Record patient histories, exam findings, procedures, treatment plans, and provider instructions.
  • Support documentation for consultations, pre-operative visits, post-operative visits, in-office procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure clinical notes are complete, accurate, and submitted promptly.
  • Help organize patient information and maintain efficient clinic flow.
  • Assist with preparing charts before patient visits and updating records after visits.
  • Communicate professionally with providers, clinical staff, and patients as needed.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and practice policies.
  • Support additional administrative or documentation tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a medical scribe, medical assistant, clinical assistant, or healthcare documentation support preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, surgical specialties, or outpatient clinical settings is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using electronic medical records, computers, and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and able to handle confidential patient information appropriately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative team members.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience documenting live patient visits.
  • Familiarity with surgical, reconstructive, cosmetic, or aesthetic terminology.
  • Ability to support clinic flow while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Strong typing and computer skills.
  • Interest in plastic surgery, aesthetics, dermatology, or surgical care.
