About the Position

Florida Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialists (FLASS) is seeking a part‑time Medical Scribe to support our Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine providers across several clinic locations. This role is ideal for candidates who are detail‑oriented, highly organized, and interested in gaining experience in a specialty environment focused on respiratory and sleep disorders.

As part of our clinical team, the scribe will work directly with physicians and APPs to ensure accurate documentation and efficient workflow across our multiple pulmonary clinics.

Key Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time during pulmonary and sleep consultations, including history, exam findings, diagnostic data, assessments, and care plans.
• Record information related to asthma, COPD, pulmonary nodules, sleep apnea, interstitial lung disease, and other respiratory conditions.
• Enter and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and promptly.
• Track orders, referrals, imaging studies, sleep studies, and pulmonary function testing (PFT) results.
• Assist providers with chart completion and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
• Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality requirements at all times.
• Support workflow efficiency by anticipating provider documentation needs.
• Work across multiple FLASS locations as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Typing speed of 50–60+ WPM
• Strong listening, communication, and writing skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty practice
• Understanding of basic medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pulmonary, sleep medicine, respiratory therapy, or a specialty clinical setting
• Prior medical scribe or EHR experience (eClinicalWorks preferred)
• Background in health sciences, biology, or pre-med track
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
