Medical Scribe / Clinical Assistant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Scribe / Clinical Assistant with prior hands-on clinical experience to support a busy multi-specialty spine/pain/comprehensive therapy medical practice. This role combines real-time clinical documentation with direct clinical assistance, requiring someone who is comfortable in patient-care environments and understands medical workflows and electronic medical records

This is not a remote scribing position and can be an entry-level role.

Key Responsibilities (Medical Scribing):

• Perform real-time clinical documentation during patient encounters
• Accurately document: HPI, ROS, physical exam findings; Assessment and treatment plans; Procedure notes (as directed by provider)
• Prepare charts prior to visits and ensure completeness after visits
• Assist with EMR navigation, templates, and documentation efficiency

Clinical Assistance:

• Room patients and assist with clinic flow for consultations and follow ups
• Obtain and document vital signs and relevant clinical information
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures in the operating room (within scope)
• Operate equipment during procedures in the operating room (within scope)
• Prepare rooms and ensure proper setup and turnover
• Assist with patient education and discharge instructions
• Maintain clinical supplies and room readiness

Must-Have Qualifications (Required):

• College education
• Prior clinical experience in a healthcare setting (medical assistant, scribe with clinical duties, EMT, medical school, foreign medical graduate, or similar)
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Experience working in a clinical or procedural environment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical setting
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
• Strong computer and EMR skills
• Comfort working directly with patients and providers

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, PM&R, or surgical clinics
• EMR experience (Eclinicalworks)
• Experience assisting with procedures or injections
• Prior experience in ambulatory surgery centers or specialty practices

This Role Is:

• Not remote
• Not virtual-only scribing
• Not observation-only or shadowing
• Not suitable for candidates without clinical exposure
• For someone living in DE or the nearby vicinity
• Ideal for someone in a gap year to prepare for medical school or PA school

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
