Medical Scribe for Cardiology

Job Type: Full Time - 40 hours per week. Work hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm, and Friday 8:00am-12:00pm. This position does not accommodate part-time hours. - 1 year commitment preferred. Ideal position for pre-med or pre-nursing student tracks.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
-
Create and review medical charts for accuracy and completion in accordance with practice guidelines.

Navigate the facility computer system and electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks).

Assist in completing charts by transcribing results of patient and doctor consultations.

Gain substantial knowledge in how to appropriately document patient history, physical exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures, treatment plans, medical opinions of consultants, diagnoses, medication/prescription information, and follow-up instructions.

Review past history and test results on patients which are critical in driving medical decisions by your provider.

Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the practice manager or physician.

Provide patients with stress test, ECHO, venous duplex, arterial duplex, carotid duplex, and lab results.

Gain clinical experience by observing cardiology procedures including venous intervention and pacemaker insertions.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Has the ability to work in a fast-paced setting supporting the provider, nurses and team members.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

Must demonstrate proficiency in computer software applications and EMR systems.

A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, and appropriate clinical pharmacology protocols for a medical assistant scope of practice.
