Medical Scribe for Orthopedic Surgeon

Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum six months experience as a medical scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:
A Medical Scribe acts as the personal assistant to the physician performing all documentation functions in the EHR system.

The Scribe accompanies the Physician into the patient examination room and accurately transcribes the history, physical exam, documents the encounter and others present with the patient at the time.

Documents all procedures performed and advise provided by the Physician

Accompany the physician during the patient interview and examination.

Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies.

Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the physician.
Document the correct time of patient care related activities, including physician to physician communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient.

Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and as dictated by the Physician.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate must have a flexible schedule and able to work up to 28 hours per week.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Medical Scribes: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Typing: 1 year (Required)
