Medical Scribe (Med Student, Experienced MA or Previous Scribe experience)- Pediatrics

The Medical Scribe plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time. This position is ideal for Med Students, Medical Assistants or other individuals seeking to gain more hands-on experience in a medical setting while enhancing their understanding of medical terminology and documentation processes. The Medical Scribe will work one on one with a physician to ensure comprehensive and precise medical records are maintained.

Duties

• Accurately transcribe patient encounters, including history, physical examinations, and treatment plans during medical visits.
• Document medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
• Assist healthcare providers by managing electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring timely updates and retrieval of patient information.
• Maintain familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to facilitate effective communication with healthcare professionals.
• Support the medical office by organizing patient charts and ensuring all necessary documentation is available for appointments.
• Collaborate with the physician to streamline processes and improve patient care delivery.

Skills

• Proficient in using EHR systems for medical documentation and record management. EPIC experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately document clinical information.
• Ability to type efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during patient interactions.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and protocols related to patient care and documentation.
• Experience or familiarity with primary care/pediatric settings is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with the physician and patients.
