SGI is a thriving single specialty medical practice with an attached state of the art ambulatory surgical center located in the heart of Naperville, IL. We are a team of dedicated physicians and advance practice providers focused on treating gastrointestinal illness, colon cancer screening, liver disease and obesity. We have an immediate need for a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scribe is a vital member of our team who will work closely with our healthcare providers to accurately pre-chart patient information, ensuring efficient and precise medical documentation. If you're an aspiring Medical, NP or PA student, this role is perfect for you! Please note this is a full-time role.

Responsibilities

- Assist healthcare providers with expertly documenting patient medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and other pertinent information in advance of patient visit.

- Transcribe medical information into electronic health records (EHR) or other documentation systems.

- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

- Learn about our practice and professionally collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize quality of patient care and improve clinical efficiency.

- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

- Manage and organize medical documents and records efficiently.

Requirements

- Experience or knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and GI procedures.

- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.

- Proficiency in typing and data entry to document patient encounters accurately and swiftly.

- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for medical documentation.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare providers and team members.

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Willingness to learn and grow in the medical field.
