Medical Scribe Transcriptionist

Busy, long established Internal Medicine Practice seeking an experienced Medical Scribe . This position will involve patient contact while working directly with the Physician as well personally assisting the Doctor with EMR and other tasks. . Hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with the exception of Thursdays when the office is closed.

We have had over 30 Medical Scribes from this practice who have transitioned into Medical School with the experience an knowledge that they received from working at this office.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for a MEDICAL SCRIBE ONLY .... NOT a medical secretary.

Responsibilities:

• Accompanies the provider to the bedside
• Accurately and thoroughly documents the patient medical history, physical exam, and procedures
• Completes transcription as requested
• Performs tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
• Maintains confidentiality with all patient information according to HIPAA laws

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge
• Excellent listening and note-taking skills
• High school diploma required
• Familiarity with a healthcare setting and ability to demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and computer application skills required. Ability to type quickly and accurately
• Displayed passion for healthcare'
