Front office medical secretary needed for a busy OB/GYN office. We are looking for a motivated, reliable, dependable, multi-tasking, team working individual. This is a full-time, clerical position that will require you to complete various secretarial duties. Knowledge of EPIC and OB/GYN is a MUST. MUST have at least two years of medical front office experience. This is not an entry level position.

Responsibilities:

  • answers phone promptly and professionally, transferring calls to the appropriate person and is responsible for checking messages and handling in a timely manner.
  • Help with calling provider's patients to confirm all appointments prior to scheduled appointment.
  • Ensure patient records are in order for the next visit and all demographic information, as well as insurance information, is accurate.
  • Follow up on any missed appointments. Documents in computer and calls patient to reschedule missed appointments.
  • Checks in patient upon arrival, scans in insurance and picture ID, has patient sign appropriate consent, HIPAA forms, etc., re-verifies demographic information and insurance.
  • collect any co-pays or payments due on accounts, cash, credit or debit cards, checks.
  • daily balance sheets for end of day reporting
  • schedule patients for follow-up appointments and procedures.
  • schedule outside appointments; hospital radiology and precertification if needed.
  • Verify insurance and eligibility, patient demographics, and update in the computer. If a procedure requires a precert, send requests to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete proper documents for patients as needed (work excuses, letters of necessity, etc.)
  • Print and fax orders
  • Post various charges and payments if needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
