Medical Technician

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Technician (Med Tech), where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care across various settings. In this dynamic position, you will assist with clinical procedures, monitor patient health, and support nursing staff to ensure optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe, respectful environment for individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, and individuals requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with medication administration, including oral, topical, and tube feeding as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
  • Support patient mobility and personal care needs while maintaining dignity and respect for each individual
  • Perform medical documentation with precision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral support strategies
  • Assist in catheter care, wound management, and other routine procedures under supervision of nursing staff
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care across assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community settings

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and emergency protocols such as CPR is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
  • Familiarity with hospice care, memory care programs, and dementia-specific interventions is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to document accurately and coordinate effectively within healthcare teams
  • Certification in caregiving or relevant medical training is desirable; valid licensing or registration as required by state law

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
