Medical Technician- Part Time

Job Title: Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Reports To: Nurse / Administrator / Resident Care Director

Position Type: Part-Time

Job Summary:

The Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and company policies. The Med Tech ensures accurate medication documentation, observes residents for changes in condition, and communicates effectively with nursing staff and families to promote residents’ health, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation of medication administration records (MARs).
  • Observe residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns immediately.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
  • Ensure medication storage and disposal are in compliance with state and facility regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and resident rights policies.
  • Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and transfers as assigned.
  • Support and promote a positive, respectful, and caring environment.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current Medication Technician (Med Tech) certification or equivalent per state requirements.
  • Previous experience in an assisted living, nursing home, or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and assist residents with mobility.

Work Environment:

  • Assisted Living / Memory Care .
  • May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Job Type: Part-time

Base Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
