Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing all bio analytical tests following established policy and procedure with minimal supervision. Emphasis is placed on the timely and accurate completion of all tests performed in conjunction with appropriate quality control measures, including physician notification of abnormalities or critical values obtained. The Medical Technologist may work independently or with others.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned. May be expected to work varying hours, holidays, and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• BA/BS in medical technology or related science and successful completion of an Accredited Medical Technology program or the equivalent as recognized by ASCP or NCA.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION:

• Successful completion of certification exam (Board of Registry) by ASCP, NCA, or equivalent. Or able to complete in 90 days. Certification is not mandated by CMS if employee meets all educational requirements but is strongly encouraged.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience preferred but not required.
