Medical Transcriptionist Intern

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Transcription Intern to assist in accurately transcribing audio recordings and written notes from healthcare professionals into formal medical reports. This role will provide hands-on experience with medical terminology, documentation standards, and transcription software, offering valuable exposure to the healthcare documentation process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Listen to audio recordings from doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers and convert them into written reports.

· Edit and proofread transcribed reports for grammar, clarity, and medical accuracy. Use transcription software and medical dictionaries to ensure correct terminology.

· Format medical documents according to hospital or clinic standards.

· Assist senior medical transcriptionists in quality checks.

· Learn to identify discrepancies in dictated material and seek clarification when needed.

Qualifications:

· Diploma or coursework in Medical Transcription, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related healthcare field.

· Basic understanding of medical terminology.

· Good listening skills and attention to detail.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Word or other document editing software.

· Proficiency in typing with accuracy and speed.

· Strong grammar and language skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to medical documentation standards.

· Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common medical terms.
