Duties
- Analyze and translate Medicare business requirements into scalable and efficient system solutions using Service-oriented architecture (SOA) and solution architecture principles.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines utilizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data integration and reporting needs.
- Manage and optimize IT infrastructure components including cloud security protocols, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, and operating systems across cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Develop and enhance web services and APIs using RESTful standards to facilitate seamless communication between systems like Salesforce, Pegasystems, and other enterprise applications.
- Conduct system design reviews, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening activities to ensure robust information security and threat management.
- Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Git to streamline development workflows.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on vulnerability management, system hardening strategies, and threat intelligence to safeguard sensitive Medicare data.
- Support systems engineering efforts by configuring virtualization platforms such as VMware or ESXi, managing system administration tasks on Windows/Linux environments, and ensuring optimal system performance.
- Participate actively in Agile development cycles to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience
- Proven experience in systems analysis or solution architecture within healthcare or insurance domains, particularly Medicare or government programs.
- Strong background in IT infrastructure management including cloud security (AWS/Azure), virtualization (VMware/ESXi), network protocols (DNS/DHCP), and system administration across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C#, Java, SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Microsoft SQL Server), PL/SQL, Ruby on Rails or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with web services standards like SOAP and RESTful APIs; experience integrating enterprise applications such as Salesforce or Pegasystems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or Git, container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles including firewall configuration, VPN setup, system hardening techniques, vulnerability assessment & management.
- Experience working within an SDLC framework using Agile methodologies; ability to adapt quickly to evolving project requirements while maintaining high standards of quality.
