Medication Aide

Med Tech

As a MedTech/Caregiver at Heritage Pointe, you will provide care and medical assistance to our residents, and some direction and supervision to our caregivers. Every day with our residents will look a little different, but in general, you will assist residents with showering, dressing, and toileting; accompany residents throughout the building and to events; and redirect residents who need reminders to take care of themselves or interact appropriately with others in our community.

We offer medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits; several shift differentials ($0.25 to $2.50 an hour); we're looking for someone who can cover an AM shift (6:30 AM to 3:00 PM) and PM shift (2:30 PM to 10:30 PM). Our med techs start at $22.50 an hour.

Mandatory Requirements

• Pass a Live scan Background Check
• Provide previous caregiver, med tech, medical, CNA or other relevant experience

• Engage with others empathetically: Each person that lives, works, and visits our building has their own story and background and personal preferences. Can you navigate these with patience, understanding and a positive attitude?
• Multi-task and reprioritize requests effectively: Can you juggle a request to toilet one resident, assist with bedtime routines for another, and take the resident you are currently helping down to the dining room for dinner?
• Pay attention to the details: Our residents have a variety of medications and we provide a variety of med management services. Are you giving the right medication to the right client the right way at the right time?
• Know when to ask for help: Shifts can be full of resident requests, questions, and concerns you do not know how to answer or address. Can you communicate with your team throughout your shift and keep everyone informed on how we can best support you?
