The Gardens of Sun City, located in Sun City, Arizona, is currently seeking experienced med tech/ caregivers that are certified by state of AZ.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • MUST HAVE AN AZ CAREGIVER CERTIFICATE
  • AZDPS FINGERPRINT CARD
  • CPR/FIRST AID
  • AZ DHS REQUIRED DEMENTIA TRAINING
  • FOOD HANDLERS CARD
  • TB TEST RESULTS (if none in 12mo can be placed)
  • ABILITY TO LIFT 50LBS

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with healthcare protocols and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene to promote independence.
  • Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, documenting findings meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
  • Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care by providing compassionate emotional support.
  • Maintain detailed medical documentation and records of medication administration, patient observations, and care provided using EMR systems.
  • Perform basic nursing duties including catheter care, tube feeding assistance, and other medical procedures under supervision or according to training.
  • Observe for changes in physical or mental health status, reporting findings promptly to healthcare professionals.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards while working within home care or community settings.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs.

  • Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting.
  • Perform other related assignments as required.
  • Attend required in-service training.
  • Be willing and able to work in any resident care position.
  • Act on constructive feedback by listening to supervisor(s), customers and peers and use it to improve performance.
  • Maintain resident, employee, and community confidentiality.
  • Respect Resident’s Rights.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
  • Promote positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork.
  • Demonstrate willingness to help other staff whenever needed.
  • Observe standard precaution procedures and all safe workplace measures.
  • Report any suspected or observed abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property or funds of a resident to the appropriate licensing agencies.
  • Perform duties under the direction of a licensed nurse, within the scope of certified practice, and within verified skills competency.
  • Pursuant to state regulations, must remain awake.
  • One (1) year med tech/caregiver experience working with the elderly is preferred
  • The ability to follow oral and written direction and keep adequate records

Experience

  • Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Proven ability to operate EMR/EHR systems such as QuickMar efficiently for accurate record keeping.
  • Experience providing medication administration and managing complex care routines for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions.
  • Knowledge of working with individuals with memory changes enhances the ability to deliver personalized care effectively.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
