Medication Technician (Med Tech - Assisted Living)

The Abigail, a 24-bed residential care home for seniors in Redwood City, is looking for a full-time Medication Technician (Med Tech). Experience in Assisted Living preferred.

Pay range is $23-$25/hour depending on experience. Willingness to be pick-up extra shifts or work overtime if needed/requested.

The Med Tech is responsible for the safe administration of medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and supports the health and well-being of residents by checking vitals, monitoring medication dosage, observing and reporting side effects, and keeping rooms clean.

Responsibilities:

• Pour and pass prescribed medications to residents following physician orders
• Record medication administration and maintain accurate and timely documentation per Title 22 RCFE regulations
• Check vitals and monitor residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions and report changes immediately
• Assist with ordering refills and and coordination with pharmacies
• Receive and properly store/secure medications
• Conduct medication counts and ensure controlled substances are logged correctly
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and light housekeeping
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, mental, and emotional condition
• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience working as a Med Tech in a senior living setting
• Experience working with individuals with dementia and memory care needs
• Negative TB test, and ability to pass a LiveScan criminal background check
• Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
