Medication Technician (Med Tech) – Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

Job Summary
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) on the evening shift, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. In this vital role, you will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient health, and providing compassionate care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your expertise will ensure safe medication practices and enhance the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor residents’ vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status to detect changes or adverse reactions promptly.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Assist with specialized care procedures including tube feeding, catheter care, and other nursing tasks requiring physiology and anatomy knowledge.
  • Support residents with activities of daily living, ensuring dignity and personalized attention in memory care, hospice, or senior care settings.
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and handle medical records securely.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and nursing practices is essential.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
  • Familiarity with caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory care needs.
  • Strong understanding of vital signs measurement, anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion.
  • Certification as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) is required; additional certifications in hospice or specialized caregiving are advantageous. Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
