Medication Technician/Caregiver

Job Summary

The Medication Technician/Caregiver is responsible for supporting the medication management program and assisting with oversight of activities in the medication room. This role also supports the daily care and well-being of residents in an assisted living environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring the medication management program
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records (MAR)
  • Set up and assist residents with self-administration of medications
  • Order, receive, and properly store medications; ensure all medication areas remain secured
  • Review medication records regularly and report any discrepancies or errors
  • Maintain current medication files and resident medical records
  • Communicate regularly with pharmacy providers, residents, families, and management staff
  • Assist with updating service plans and monthly care logs as needed
  • Help residents schedule medical appointments and arrange transportation
  • Conduct routine room visits and safety checks
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Document care provided, including ADLs, medication assistance, and any changes in resident condition
  • Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities
  • Support communication between residents and family members
  • Follow individualized care plans and report any needed adjustments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–4 years of related experience preferred
  • Completion of Medication Management Training required
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (as required by state regulations)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and handle routine problem-solving
  • Flexibility to work varies schedules based on operational needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Med Tech/Caregiver (Required)
  • Ability to commute to Encino, CA (Required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
