Medium Voltage Switchgear Design Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Medium Voltage Switchgear Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing the electrical scheme and selection of the protection IEDs, configuration of the MV switchgear panel and selection of the electrical components. Should be familiar with the Utility and O & G specifications, knowledge of the applicable IECs. Proficiency in e CAD software like SEE / E Plan for the development of the electrical drawings will be mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:
• Create and refine designs for medium voltage switchgear in adherence to project specifications and standards.
• Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic diagram covering protection logics and ensure accuracy in technical documentation.
• RFQ and Specifications Modifications:
• Analyze and develop the design based on the RFQs and project specifications to align with customer requirements and project needs.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand and implement necessary changes.
• Technical Submittals:
• Prepare and present detailed technical submittals, ensuring all specifications and requirements are met.
• Collaborate with the project management team to gather necessary information and insights for submittal preparation.
• Project Coordination:
• Work closely with project engineers and clients to establish and maintain project timelines and deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, providing insights and recommendations based on technical expertise.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and company policies.
• Conduct tests and simulations as required to validate designs.
• Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing, testing and site commissioning phases if required.
• Troubleshoot design issues and recommend effective solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medium voltage switchgear electrical design or a related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, e CAD, ETAP, or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any additional qualifications, such as certifications or specific software experience or product training at OEM
• Experience in Oil & Gas and Utility projects and knowledge of global standards.
