Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including security alarms, access control, CCTV surveillance, intercoms, and data cabling.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and ensure proper system functionality.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on low voltage systems to prevent failures and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct system upgrades and repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to assess system needs and provide professional service solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, system configurations, and repair logs for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role within low voltage systems or electronics.
- Proficiency with hand tools, schematics reading, and equipment repair techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to work with computer hardware and networking components.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring standards, safety protocols, and troubleshooting procedures using tools like ohmmeters.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately for installation and repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on maintenance, diagnostics, and system optimization.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for service calls. Nice-to-have skills include experience working with computer networking systems, mechanical components related to electronic equipment, familiarity with service technician procedures, experience working with computer hardware setups, knowledge of industry-specific schematics, and prior involvement in equipment repair projects.
