Member Business Credit Analyst

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Member Business Credit Analyst, where your expertise will drive strategic financial decisions and support the growth of our members businesses. This is an in-person position where you would be working closely with our business loan officer. In this role, you will analyze credit worthiness, perform risk assessments, and develop financial models to ensure sound lending practices. Your analytical skills and financial acumen will help foster strong relationships with members while safeguarding our organization’s financial health. Responsibilities

1. Evaluate loan applications, PFS’s, financials (tax returns, P&L’s, etc.) provided by applicants for underwriting purposes

2. Perform analysis and underwriting functions including completing spreadsheets that measure cash flow, net worth and other measurables used to make a loan decision and to determine loan terms. Write up a summary/narrative describing the loan purpose, the borrower’s background, repayment sources and other qualifications. Complete risk rating spreadsheets to assign a risk rating score to a prospective business loan.

3. Order/look up/request title commitments, closing services, flood determinations, credit reports, property condition reports, tax bills, proof of insurance, lease agreements/rent rolls, miscellaneous items if needed to meet closing timeframes.

4. Ensure that sound analysis and lending procedures are followed. Act in compliance with the credit union lending policies. Stay informed of changes in lending standards and related legal requirements.

5. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved.

6. Complete annual business loan reviews by December 31 each year.

7. Complete special projects and performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be able to commute to work daily Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00.

Education/Certification:

Associate degree or equivalent combination of formal training and experience

Required Knowledge:

Knowledge of Credit Union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines

Understanding of the foundation of determining credit worthiness

Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals

Experience Required:

Minimum of one year experience processing loans

Skills/Abilities:

Good communication and interviewing skills

Professional appearance, dress, and attitude

Good financial skills

Ability to use related computer application

Based on experience
