Member Engagement Coordinator

The National Employment Law Council Member Engagement Coordinator reports to the NELC President and Executive Director to provide administrative support for the organization, its members, committees, and events. The position is fully remote and requires self-motivation and excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills. Prior experience with non-profit membership organizations and working with attorneys strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Board, Committee, and Member Support

  • Calendar and schedule meetings of the Board, Executive Committee, and committees designated by the Executive Committee, and provide reminders as needed.
  • In coordination with the President and designated committee chairs, provide and circulate meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain organized and accessible electronic files.
  • Other duties as assigned by the NELC President or Executive Director.

Event Coordination and Member Engagement

  • Assist with event promotion, production, and registration for NELC Annual Conference, Regional Conference, and other events as needed, at locations around the U.S.
  • Coordinate webinars and video conferences for Board, committees, and members.
  • Assist applicants for membership, members, Directors, and sponsors with routine requests for assistance and coordination with others as appropriate.
  • Engage members via LinkedIn and other social media

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum three years of experience as an Executive Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Event Coordinator, Non-Profit Member Services position, or similar position.
  • Full comprehension of office management systems, calendaring, and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to schedule, facilitate and manage video conference meetings for large groups on Zoom and Teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills with ability to efficiently prioritize daily workload.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in demeanor, attire, and communications.
  • Ability to engage in domestic airline travel.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. The successful candidate will have a secure, quiet environment in which to work, with ability to attend meetings with video camera on. NELC will supply necessary hardware. Occasional travel within the U.S. at NELC expense will be required.

Prior experience working with lawyers in private practice or major corporations will greatly assist in the success of this position.

Compensation

This is a non-exempt hourly position eligible for overtime, which must be approved in advance, in writing, by the President or Executive Director. Work schedule will be 36 hours per week, with anticipated pay range of $24-$32 per hour. The position provides for two weeks of paid vacation and a minimum of six days sick leave, consistent with the state law where remote employee is based.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
