Growing, established credit union is seeking a reliable full-time Member Service Representative to provide best-in-class service. This position is unique, as it will serve credit union members through in person transactions, as well as over the phone. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, providing basic account, product information and educating members on a wide variety of products and services, as well processing transactions and cross-selling.
Work schedule is weekdays, Mon-Fri 8:00am – 3:00pm.
The successful candidate will be the “frontline” of the credit union and will play a fundamental role in achieving member satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. This person must be responsible, self-motivated and very comfortable communicating with different types of clients and selling the credit union’s products/services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides a best-in-class member experience in all member interactions.
- Processes member transactions according to office policies and procedures.
- Maintains working knowledge of Seaport FCU deposit, credit card, loan products and electronic services.
- Opens new accounts as needed and handles member inquiries.
- Completes daily deposit slips and investigates, resolves, and reports out of balance conditions and resolutions.
- Answers inbound member calls and accurately completes requested transactions regarding deposit, credit card, and loan products.
- Calmly researches, resolves, and de-escalates member questions or issues.
- Takes ownership of each situation presented until is a resolution is found.
- Acts as a liaison between members and various departments.
- Meets cross-selling and productivity metrics each month.
- Educates members on Seaport FCU products and services to best support their needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned (which may include filing, faxing, correspondence, etc.).
Knowledge and skills
- Must have 1-3 years of experience in banking or credit unions
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of accountabillity and responsibility
- Superior communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Demonstrates a consistent positive and customer-focused attitude, both in person and over the phone
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard business computer operations, internet applications, web browsers, e-mail, and various Windows-based software applications.
- Able to work in multiple systems to obtain account data and complete research and requests for members and applicants in a timely manner.
- Open to adapting and embracing changes in organization, processes and systems as needed.
Hourly Rate: $24.00
